Here is the link to our paypal account It has been a long time since we have had time to blog on our site. We have been pretty busy around our house. We are getting back into the swing of things with the start of school. Both the girls are having a great time in their classes thus far and are making some new friends. With the beginning of a new school year we are starting some new routines around the house to make sure that everything in our house goes as smooth as possible. Both girls are involved with a number of things so we are always juggling our schedules. Outside of the new school year we are getting our house prepared for our adoption. Since our Homestudy has been approved have started to slowly collect some of the baby items we will need. We have bought some clothes and also have had some wonderful items donated by some great friends. We are also getting ready by changing some rooms around and getting the nursery ready. We purchased a crib, changing table, and dresser on Craigslist for a wonderful price and just need to put it together. Taylor has moved to her new room and loves it! She now has her own bathroom! So many things are happening for our family that I can say we are truly blessed! There are some super awesome big things that are going to be happening in the upcoming weeks so I will try to blog more to keep people posted! Come back and see! It is pretty cool and we will have some cool giveaways for our family and friends who have been supporting us! There are some days that I legitimately cannot get the motivation to go to the gym and work out. The thought of actually being on the treadmill, elliptical, or bike to do some cardio actually makes me wanna cry because you know sitting on my tush is a lot more fun. And lets not even mention lifting. I just imagine what my muscles will feel like the next day. Shoot I would rather be cleaning sometimes. It isn't because it is super hard or I can't get through my routine but because it is work! This week it has been so hard to force myself to the gym. I found every reason not to that would make it okay for me: I have to clean before our mini trip, I have an application for a grant I need to fill out, there is a slumber party tonight, the moon isn't in the right phase...okay so the last one was a stretch. It has been so hard! But then this little voice tells me to get of my tuchas and go and then I bigger booming voice tells me I really need to go. The big booming voice is Brian, my husband and my work out partner. This man comes in from work everyday ready to go to the gym after dinner! I mean he is pumped and ready to go with his gym clothes and ear buds. Me? Well I am tinkering around the house and looking at this and that, fiddling with stuff that doesn't need to be fiddled with. Then the magic words..."You don't have to go if you don't want to tonight." Those words make me feel like a lazy cow. Here he as been at work doing worky things and most days during the week I have done nothing near what he has that day. He does hard work all day but still is motivated! Weirdo! One of the best things about our relationship is that we compliment each other and fill in the spaces were the other is weak. He also knows that I am more difficult on myself than anyone else could be. So knowing that he works so hard throughout the week and I am blessed to only have to work a 3 day work week in comparison to his 5 I usually get up off the couch or out of the bed and go to the gym. Hey if he can have the motivation it helps me! After the first 10 minutes or so of pouting and acting like a 6 year old having a mini melt down I usually start to enjoy myself. After awhile I am fully engrossed in my workout and sometimes it is really hard to pull me away from the gym. His motivation is just what I needed to get my butt in ge This is why I love having such a wonderful workout partner. he knows me! He know what I need to get motivated because some days I just don't wanna.... Adoption, Adoption, Adoption. Pretty much that is what is on our minds right now. We have been so busy since March of this year doing all the necessary paper work and interviews for our adoption process, but it was long before that we prepared ourselves for this awesome journey. There have been many peaks and valleys along the way and days that we questioned ourselves, but we knew what was truly in our hearts. Adoption is not a foreign concept for either of our families. I am adopted and have known I was adopted since I was 6 or 7 years old. When I found out I was adopted I couldn't wait to find out more and I am kind of a researcher by nature. I loved the idea and my parents always let me know how special I was! Brian has the awesome distinction of having 5 younger siblings who are adopted, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He knows the experience from the siblings point of view, so it is great for him to be able to talk to Taylor and Tena. We always wanted to add to our family and adoption was always in the cards. It was always placed on my heart that I would do what my parents did for me. Adoption is truly beautiful and such a self-less act. We don't know our birth mother yet but I love her! She is doing something so amazing. Her love for her unborn child is truly inspiring. Because we wanted to have a connection with the woman who is bringing our child into this world, we chose an adoption agency that believes in open adoption. We want to share with her and ensure her that she made a good choice. While both of our processes in adoption may be different love brought us both to the decision! So we finally have a blog. I have tried several times to start one but just didn't commit to one because I didn't know what to blog about. Well let me tell you we have so much going on now that it seemed like the perfect time! We wanted to start a blog this time to let everyone know what is going on with our family and how we are doing. So much has been going on with us...the end of school, working on our health, fitness and diet, a new niece to spoil, and a new nephew to spoil and of course starting the process of ADOPTING! We couldn't be any happier, excited, and yet a little nervous at the same time! All of it sometimes a little overwhelming but we couldn't be happier to be on this journey! |
